My Best Vegan Hotspots: By Foxes and Food

As a vegan, one of the questions I get asked frequently is, ‘Do you find it difficult when you go out to eat?’. There is a common misconception that vegans can only eat salads but it couldn’t be further from the truth! I love trying new restaurants and different cuisines. Luckily for me, there are some amazing places to eat here in Abu Dhabi with fantastic vegan options. Plus, the food is so good even meat eaters will fall in love! It gets even better, most of my favourite places to visit are on the ENTERTAINER meaning you can be kinder to the planet and your bank balance at the same time. Here are my favourite restaurants with amazing vegan options.

Italian

Carluccio’s is up there with one of my favourite places as they have an entirely separate menu which caters especially for vegans and vegetarians. My favourite branch has to be at the Eastern Mangroves as it has a gorgeous view and delicious big bowls of pasta—what more could you ask for? Be sure to try the focaccia, it really is gorgeous!

Indian

Currently ranked as the 2^nd best restaurant in Abu Dhabi on trip advisor, Angar at Yas Viceroy is my go-to place for the best Indian food in town. I love that Angar has their vegan options clearly listed on the menu, making it really easy for me to find my options. My main course of choice is the Beans and Asparagus Thoran; beans and asparagus stir-fried with curry leaf and coconut—yum! I also adore the Onion Bajias, they are incredibly moreish!

Japanese

Inakaya is my favourite place to eat in Abu Dhabi, hands down. The incredible food and the interactive cooking stations really help capture the feel of authentic Japanese dining. The vegetable tempura is the best I have had with lots of delicious vegetables including sweet potato and asparagus. The staff were kind enough to prepare some vegan sushi and are happy to prepare the miso soup with vegetable stock too. Keep your eyes peeled on the ENTERTAINER for the evening brunch options as the tofu steak dish is a must try!

Chinese

In my opinion, Royal Orchid is the best Chinese branch in town. The tofu wok dishes are perfectly cooked and they offer a wide range of sauces. My favourites are the chilli and basil, black bean and ginger and spring onion. Don’t fancy eating out? No problem!
