In hono(u)r of 4th of July, we thought it was only fair that we ask our lovely Marketing Manager, Hannah Casey, to share her favourite must-visit NYC restaurants with us – here in Dubai! Hailing from the USA, Hannah moved to Dubai in 2013, and besides dining out (and using the ENTERTAINER), her hobbies include yoga, swimming, Netflix-ing and crosswords.

“Undoubtedly, New York City has some of the most amazing restaurants & cafés on the planet. There are an estimated 24,000 eateries in the Big Apple, and every time I visit, I try to visit as many as I can. Since you’re probably not catching a flight to the “City That Never Sleeps” this weekend, I’ve compiled a list of my absolute favorite NYC haunts that you can visit in Dubai! Besides the proximity, they’re ALL in the ENTERTAINER, so hop on board for a foodie flight to New York.
Burger Joint New York
Location: City Walk
Burger Joint New York is truly an experience. The original location, located near Central Park, is infamous for its avant-garde advertising strategy. You’ll find no signs for the restaurant, which is hidden (literally) behind a red curtain. Basically, you need to know what you’re looking for to find it, making it impossibly cool. While there’s a bit more signage at their Dubai location in City Walk (opposite Starbucks), it’s definitely worth visiting for the amazingly kooky, urban interior. Oh and the burgers & fries are delicious. And the ENTERTAINER even offers it on delivery!
Clinton Street Baking Company
Location: Various
One of my favourite NYC restaurants, Clinton Street Baking Company is consistently delicious, no matter what I try there. They have recently upped their game with a new location at City Walk, arguably the hottest address in Dubai at the moment. Their staff are super friendly, which I think is a must for an authentic American vibe. I’d recommend the Fried Chicken & Waffles, with a side of Cheese Grits for a taste of southern charm.
Hard Rock Café
Location: Dubai Festival City
Do you love music and food? If so, you have got to visit Hard Rock Café at Festival City. The gigantic restaurant-cum-concert hall is always buzzing with an eclectic mix of music videos playing on a huge projector and hosts live bands regularly. The food is fab and the atmosphere is rockin’, making it a great spot for music-lovers of all ages. It’s even licensed!
This one is a bit of a cheat because the original Hard Rock Café actually opened in LONDON, by two American students in search of the best burgers in town. That being said, arguably the most famous location is in Times Square.
Serendipity 3
Location: Dubai Festival City
Another NYC main-stay, Serendipity 3 is a sugar-lover’s dream. The Dubai Festival City location is complete with the same whimsical character as the original. Famous for their fun beverages & charming decor, I recommend going for breakfast & topping it off with a frozen hot chocolate. Don’t leave the house without a fully charged phone, you’ll definitely be snapping pics at this Instagram-worthy spot.
Serafina
Location: Souk Al Bahar
Pizza and New York City go together like, well, peanut butter & jelly, so it’s no surprise that one of my favorite restaurants there is a the legendary pizzeria, Serafina. A popular haunt for celebrities and socialities, Serafina boasts “the best pizza and pasta in the world.” Before you rush off to catch the first flight to JFK, you can visit Serafina in Souk Al Bahar. The dining experience is fun & sophisticated, exactly what I look for in a pizzeria”.
